Direct Action Day  (16 August 1946), also known as the  1946 Calcutta Killings , was a day of widespread communal rioting between Muslims and Hindus in the city of Calcutta . In Bengal, under British Rule. The day also marked the start of what is known as  The Week of the Long Knives. गर्व से कहो हम हिन्दू हैं.... ! हिन्दू समाज में जब जब भी धर्म आधारित मुद्दों पर चर्चा होती है , सामान्यतः लोग दो श्रेणियों में बंट जाते हैं एक अज्ञानी मानवतावादी दूसरा कट्टर हिन्दू !! मैंने पहली श्रेणी के बंधू के लिए “अज्ञानी” इसलिए लगाया क्योंकि हिन्दू होना और मानवतावादी होना अपने आप में पर्यायवाची हैं नाकि विरोधाभासी , पर चूंकि बचपन से ही हमारी वामपंथी शिक्षा व्यवस्था से ये सिखाया जाता है की पहले इंसान बनो धार्मिक नहीं ,इसलिए ऐसे लोगों के मन में धर्म के प्रति एक भय मिश्रित छवि निर्मित हो चुकी होती है , धार्मिक होना कोई गुनाह सा लगने लगता है , वो भी बिना अपने धर्म को पढ़े और समझे !! मैंने दूसरी श्रेणी के व्यक्ति के साथ कट्टर इसलिए लगाया क्योंकि धर्म पर श्रद्धा रखने वालों को दुनिया ऐसा ही मानना चाहती है और दुनिया ऐसा मानना चाहती है तो हम उन्हें कैसे रोक सकते हैं ,क्योंकि इतिहास गवाह है की ज्यादातर धर्मों में जब जब श्रद्धा अंध श्रद्धा में बदली , तब तब रक्तपात हुआ है और आज भी हो रहा है , इसलिए हमारे हजारों सालों के इतिहास और शासन के बूते हम ये जरूर सिद्ध कर सकते हैं की एक कट्टर हि

Pride in Hinduism       Though Vivekanada was world famous as a “Hindu monk” he launched the still popular slogan: “Garv se kaho hum Hindu hain. गर्व से कहो हम हिन्दू है …!!! “Say it with pride : we are Hindus” ,  is what  Swami Vivekananda  taught his fellow Hindus. Some anti-Hindu people insinuate that this slogan implies a doctrine that Hindus are superior. In that case,  Black is beautiful  would mean that white is not beautiful; it would therefore be a racist slogan and quite reprehensible. In fact, every colour is beautiful in its own way, and it is quite alright to express pride in the long-despised black colour. And everyone is entitled to have and to express pride in his identity. Expressing pride is not a matter of superiority, but being denied the right to express pride, is very certainly a proof of an imposed inferiority.
